Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock. Three seconds! That is all the time you have to get a page to load before a visitor leaves your site.
Website users are notorious for being impatient, yet businesses still ignore the importance of speeding up the loading time of their site.
A State Of Online Retail Performance report, which was released in August by Akamai, revealed that 53% of users on a mobile phone will exit a page if it takes longer than three seconds to load.
And now an e-Commerce website study by Wolfgang Digital has found that reducing the average page load time by 1.6s can increase revenue growth by 10 percent!
The statistics back it up as retail giant Walmart saw a two percent increase in conversions for every second that their page load time improved following changes.
On the same note, Forbes Magazine has also taken note as the global media company’s page impressions per second went up by 10% after they managed to reduce the average page load time from 6.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds on their new mobile site.
Why are we telling you all this?
Well, the faster your website loads, the higher it will appear on the Google rankings and the better chance you have of getting conversions, which will ultimately lead to higher revenue. Yay!
